Border Police
The Romanian Border Police is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is the specialized institution of the state that exercises its duties regarding the supervision and control of the crossing of the state border, the prevention and combating of illegal migration and specific acts of cross-border crime committed in the area of competence, compliance with the legal regime of the state border, passports and foreigners, compliance with public order and peace in the area of competence, in accordance with the law.
Customs Office
In Romania, the international regulations of the Convention for Customs Facilities for Tourist Traffic are applied. High-value goods and jewelry and foreign coins must be declared upon entering the country if it is desired to remove them later without further formalities.
Entry customs declarations must be kept in case they are required when leaving the country.
