Integrated fire detection and alarm system

The objective of the project is to equip the buildings in the airport perimeter with fire detection, signaling and alarm equipment, interconnected by optical fiber in a single integrated detection and alarm system (dispatched).
The dispatch center will be equipped with monitoring equipment and state-of-the-art computer programs that will allow the detection of a crisis situation in the shortest possible time and will ensure the permanent monitoring of the objectives.

The objective of the project consists in the purchase of some airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces of the Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, which will include a snow removal vehicle with plow, brush and blower, a vehicle for de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces with solid material and liquid and the multifunctional machine equipped with snow removal systems (cutter, plow, etc.).

Aircraft parking platform

The objective of the project is the construction of a parking platform for aircraft with dimensions of 222.6 mx 71 m and a total built area of 32.251 m4 (bearing surfaces and abutments), which will provide XNUMX parking spaces. The new platform will be connected to the taxiway, respectively to the take-off/landing runway) and will be equipped with all the necessary beaconing equipment, so that operational activities can be carried out in safe conditions and, at the same time, provide smooth movements on the platform .

Aircraft electric de-icing/anti-icing truck Code SMIS 2014 + 158005
International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj, as a beneficiary of European funds through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as the Management Authority, signed on June 9, 2023 Financing Contract No. 237 for the achievement of the investment objective "Electric aircraft de-icing/anti-icing vehicle".
The "Aircraft de-icing/anti-icing electric vehicle" project, code SMIS 2014 + 158005 is co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and has an implementation period of 12 months, respectively between January 01, 2023 - December 31 2023.

Ensuring CAT operating conditions. III at the runway 07-25 – SMIS code 2014+ 158457
Through the project "Ensuring CAT III operating conditions at runway 07-25", Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport aims to increase the performance of the current ILS system from CAT II to CAT III.
Considering the location of the Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport in a low-lying area in the immediate vicinity of the Someș River, in a calendar year, especially during the spring and autumn seasons, at least 30 days are recorded with dense fog that reduces horizontal visibility below 300 meters and vertical visibility below 30 meters.

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj, an autonomous municipality under the Cluj County Council, is implementing a new project with European funds, through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020, whose investment objective is to modernize the beaconing system on the airport movement surface.
The need for investment has as its main element the fact that the International Airport Avram Iancu from Cluj Napoca takes over 70% of the passenger traffic from the North-West region of Romania, in the context in which there are 200 other international airports within a radius of less than 5 kilometers, at Oradea, Satu-Mare, Baia Mare, Sibiu and Târgu Mureș.

Extension of passenger departures terminal on the North side

The main objective of the investment is to expand the Passenger Departures Terminal, towards the North, both on the ground floor of the building and on its first floor, in the area of boarding gates A1, A2, A3, intended for domestic flights and in the area of boarding gates B1, B2, B3 , B4 intended for external flights. Following the implementation of the project, the departure terminal will be expanded by approximately 7.200 square meters and the aircraft parking platform by nearly 9.000 square meters, which will lead to increased processing capacity and passenger comfort.
