RYANAIR CELEBRATES SUMMER SCHEDULE AT CLUJ-NAPOCA

5 ROUTES, 30 WEEKLY FLIGHTS AND SUPPORT FOR 230 SEATS

Ryanair, Europe's leading airline, launched today (March 28) the most extensive summer schedule (S24) for Cluj-Napoca, with 5 routes to amazing destinations such as Brussels, Dublin, London, Milan and Paris. As part of this S24 programme, Ryanair will carry 285.000 passengers (+40% increase) to/from Cluj-Napoca on its 30 weekly flights, boosting the local economy and supporting over 230 jobs.

Ryanair's summer 2024 schedule for Cluj-Napoca will include:

  • 5 routes – Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, London Stansted, Milan Bergamo, Paris Beauvais
  • 285.000 passengers (+40% compared to the 2023 summer season)
  • Over 230 jobs supported

Although Ryanair marks its fifth year of operations in Cluj-Napoca, its commitment to expansion in the region remains constant. While Ryanair confirms that it is the most reliable and fastest airline in Romania and in Europe, Wizz Air continues to downsize, reducing both the number of aircraft and routes in Europe, along with the 20+ routes that were canceled from Romania this summer.

As of March 31, 2024, Romania will effectively be part of the Schengen area, allowing air passengers easier access between Schengen member states, with a total of over 420 million citizens. To celebrate this significant moment, which will benefit air passengers in Romania, Ryanair has launched a three-day ticket sales campaign, with fares starting from just €24,99 available from today only for direct bookings on ryanair. com.

Mauro Bola, Head of Communication for Italy and Eastern Mediterranean at Ryanair stated:

“As Europe's leading airline, Ryanair is delighted to celebrate its summer schedule for Cluj-Napoca with 5 routes connecting the region to amazing destinations such as Brussels, Dublin, London, Milan and Paris. As part of Ryanair's 2024 summer schedule, we will carry over 285.000 passengers (+40% increase) to/from Cluj-Napoca on our 30 weekly flights, boosting the local economy and supporting over 230 jobs.

Our commitment to Cluj-Napoca airport and the region is evident as Wizz Air continues to scale back its European operations, cutting both the number of aircraft and routes in Europe, alongside the 20+ routes that have been canceled from Romania this summer. To celebrate the momentous moment of Romania joining the Schengen area, a move that will benefit Romanian air passengers, Ryanair has launched a three-day seat sale, with fares starting from just €24,99 available from today only for bookings on ryanair.com.”

Mr. David Ciceo, CEO, Cluj International Airport stated: "We welcome the announcement of increased frequencies and passenger numbers by Ryanair for destinations operated in S24 from Cluj International Airport and we particularly appreciate their commitment. This expansion not only reflects Ryanair's confidence in Cluj International Airport, but also underlines the growing demand for air travel in our region.

We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Ryanair and improve connectivity for our passengers. These increased frequencies will provide more choice and flexibility for travellers, whether for business or leisure.

At Cluj International Airport, we are committed to continuously improving our services and facilities to meet the ever-changing needs of our passengers. We will continue to work closely with Ryanair to further expand our route network and improve the overall travel experience for everyone who chooses to travel from Cluj.”
