SPICE PROJECT MEETING
administrator2022-02-17T15:19:12+02:00On June 15, 2017, at 09:00, a meeting on the Spice project took place at Eurocontrol headquarters, Brussels. The Romanian Airports Association is also part of the project, along with the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority and Romatsa. The meeting was attended by representatives of INEA, EUROCONTROL and the beneficiaries of the SPICE project, from other activities.
The meeting was opened by the representative of Eurocontrol, SPICE implementation coordinator, who presented the agenda of the meeting, followed by presentations from each beneficiary. They presented the following topics:
- – description of the purpose of the activity,
- – achievements made within the project,
- – planning for the next 4 years,
- – the risks and problems encountered,
- – their impact on the way the project is carried out,
- – measures to reduce the identified risks,
- – general feedback.
Given that AAR is a partner/beneficiary in the project, each member airport can receive funding through this project for the obstacle studies performed. The SPICE project has a value of 39.029.792 Euros, is co-financed in proportion to 85% by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility program and is to be implemented between 17.02.2016 and 31.12.2020.
The Spice project is part of the implementation phase of the SESAR (Single European Sky) program aimed at increasing the efficiency of air traffic management and air navigation services by reducing the fragmentation of European airspace. The objective of the SESAR project is to modernize the European air traffic management system (air traffic management - ATM).
