Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport celebrates the 2 millionth passenger in 2024 for the sixth time in its history
Cluj-Napoca, August 26, 2024: Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, Cluj County Council and Wizz Air airline celebrated today the 2.000.000th passenger registered in 2024. The event represented a particularly important landmark for the airport and for the region it serves.
This year Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport reaches for the sixth time in its history the threshold of 2 million registered passengers in a calendar year, this anniversary thus becoming a symbolic event to mark the success and excellence of airport operations, celebrated together with our passengers and partners.
Passenger with number 2.000.000 registered in the year 2024, was transported by the air carrier Wizz Air, on his flight number W4 3382, from Milan-Bergamo to Cluj-Napoca.
The lucky passenger was selected and awarded upon disembarking, in the presence of representatives of local authorities, partner institutions and organizations, representatives of the airport and the airline company, respectively mass media representatives.
Mrs. Valeria Bragarenco, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, sent the following: "The airline Wizz Air is honored to take part in this remarkable anniversary moment for Cluj International Airport, with the celebration of 2 million passengers in 2024. It is a special privilege that the 2 millionth passenger of 2024 was transported on our flight from Bergamo to Cluj-Napoca. This year, Cluj International Airport celebrates, for the 6th time in its history, the 2.000.000th passenger, and this month, on August 12, we set a new record, i.e. more than 14.000 passengers registered in a single day. I would like to thank all passengers, collaborators, partners and the entire airport team for the special contribution within our development projects and we are convinced that by the end of 2024 we will once again exceed the milestone of 3 million registered passengers in a single calendar year .”
The route network of Cluj International Airport currently offers over 45 regular destinations to approximately 20 countries in Europe and the Middle East, as well as charter flights to the most important tourist destinations of the season.
