Anastasia Novak, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “Expanding the route network from Cluj-Napoca remains a priority for the airline, and the relaunch of flights to Billund reflects this ambition. Announced shortly after the Castellón and Heraklion destinations, which will start this summer season, the new route offers passengers even more options for affordable travel, in line with the “Customer First Compass” transformation plan across the entire Wizz Air network. I am delighted to welcome you on board our aircraft to even more wonderful destinations from Cluj Airport!”

David Ciceo, CEO of Cluj International Airport, stated: "We are very pleased to be able to announce, together with the airline Wizz Air, the resumption of flights to Billund and all of Denmark, starting in October of this year. The Billund destination has been one of the most requested by passengers in our coverage area, since its suspension in February 2023, and we believe that its reintroduction into the network of destinations available from Cluj-Napoca will both increase tourist flows between the two countries and contribute to stimulating economic exchanges between the two regions interconnected by direct flights, at affordable prices for passengers."
Viorel Federiga, President of the Board of Directors of Cluj International Airport he also stated: "A new destination means new travel options for Cluj Airport passengers, and this very popular Wizz Air route can only strengthen the airport's position in the region, as the main air gateway to Transylvania. We wish the airline much success and as many announcements of this kind for Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport as possible."
