PRESS RELEASE Cluj-Napoca, 18.01.2024 – Passenger traffic in 2023

In 2023 Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport registered a record number of 3.240.750 passengers.

Passenger traffic on external routes represented 90,79% of the total traffic registered in Cluj, while passenger traffic on internal routes was 9,21%.  

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport is consolidating its position as the country's first regional airport in 2023 as well, registering a 22,52% increase in passenger traffic compared to 2022.

Also, the Cluj airport registered a 15,45% increase compared to 2022 in the number of aircraft movements, totaling 27.464 takeoffs and landings.

The same top position was occupied by Cluj Airport in 2023 and in the category of transported cargo traffic: 7.417,71 tons, increasing by 6,95% compared to 2022.

More than 24,5 million passengers transited Romanian airports in 2023, 17% more than the previous year.
