The European Commission imposes restrictions on the security screening of liquids in hand luggage at EU airports

AUGUST 31, 2024 – CLUJ-NAPOCA – International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj informs that starting on September 1, 2024, as a result of the European Commission Decision, temporary restrictions will be imposed on limiting the volume of containers for liquids, aerosols and gels per 100 ml carried in hand luggage.

Containers for liquids, aerosols and gels of maximum 100ml You don't have to to be placed in a resealable transparent plastic bag, with a maximum capacity of 1 liter.

These restrictions come as a result of European Commission Decision 2024/2109 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2108 amending Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 and apply to all airports in the EU that use detection equipment of explosives in hand luggage (EDSCB) standard C3.

The imposition of these temporary restrictions is determined by the need to revise some technical configurations of standard C3 security equipment in order to improve their performance.

At the security control, the passengers They will NOT have to to remove laptops and other large electronic devices from hand luggage.
