Cluj-Napoca, May 14, 2025: Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, Cluj County Council and TAROM airline celebrated today, for the 14th time in the airport's history, the 1.000.000th passenger registered in 2025.
The anniversary of reaching the 1 million passenger threshold is already a symbolic event of Cluj International Airport, celebrated every spring, and this year the 1.000.000th passenger was registered on flight RO 643 Bucharest - Cluj-Napoca of the TAROM airline.
The lucky passenger was selected and awarded in a festive moment organized with the arrival of the aircraft, in the presence of representatives of local authorities, partner institutions and organizations, representatives of the airport and the airline company, respectively mass media representatives.
Mr. Viorel Federiga, President of the Board of Directors of Cluj International Airport, stated on the occasion of this event: "Celebrating these significant passenger milestones for Cluj International Airport has already become a tradition for over a decade, since the anniversary of the 1 millionth passenger. Through this performance, the airport remains a development engine and confirms its leading position among regional airports in Romania."
Mr. David Ciceo, General Director of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, said on the occasion of celebrating passenger number 1 million 10 days earlier than in 2024: "This event is the result of collaboration and continuous work by all those involved in the development and modernization of the airport. In the first quarter of 2025, at Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, the Bucharest - Otopeni destination ranked 1st in the top destinations, with a total of over 80.000 registered passengers.
