Meeting on the OLGA Project at the water treatment plant of Compania de Apa Someș SA
On 24.10.2024, a visit was made to the treatment plant of Compania de Apa Someș SA, in order to analyze the possibility of locating the experimental mini-station for the production of biomethane, as an activity related to the OLGA Project (hOLystic&Green Airports).
One of the objectives of the OLGA Project is the production of biomethane from renewable sources, which will be used to fuel a bus to connect the city with the airport. By carrying out the project, passengers will be given the opportunity to travel safely and comfortably, with a bus that has low emissions, thus reducing the carbon footprint.
The site where the mini-biomethane production station is to be installed was visited, the technical and administrative aspects that must be taken into account for the realization of this pilot project were discussed.
In order to achieve the objective, Cluj International Airport collaborates with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Compania de Apa Someș SA, but also with international partners, ENGIE-Crigen France, taking as an example airports that have implemented this service for passengers.
