Partial reception of the works related to Stage I - within the "Taxiway parallel to the runway" project
On 16.06.2022, the partial reception of the works related to Stage I of the Taxiway parallel to the runway project took place, - code SMIS 2014+ 125198, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014 - 2020. Thus, the 2 runways, Hotel and India, became operational. The Hotel taxiway (TWY H) is 392,68m long and the India taxiway (TWY I) is 381,52m long.
The partial reception committee of Stage I included representatives of the beneficiary (Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport), the executor (Associea Societatea de Construcții Napoca SA -SC Geo Arc SRL) and the supervisor (SC Viadif Consult SRL).
At the same time, the Start Order was given for the works related to the second stage of theTaxiway parallel to the runway project, - code SMIS 2014+ 125198, co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014 - 2020. The works for the completion of the second stage, they will be completed in approximately 4 months.
The New Taxiway will streamline the movements of aircraft on the ground and handling equipment, which will lead to the optimization of times to carry out ground operations under increased safety and security conditions, as well as ensuring the optimal framework to support the passenger traffic recorded in the last period at the airport. This passenger traffic implies an increase in the number of aircraft movements and the equipment that serves these aircraft on the ground. Streamlining ground operations will also lead to reduced times for handling operations.
The total value of the Financing Agreement is 63.907.277 lei, of which 20.108.965,42 lei is the contribution of the European Union, and 3.075.488,84 lei are provided by the State Budget.
