Final reception of the first stage of the investment objective "Taxiway parallel to the runway"

On February 3, 2023, the final reception of the first stage of the investment objective "Taxway parallel to the runway" took place - code SMIS 2014+ 125198 - Project co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020.

The final reception of stage I was attended by representatives from:

• Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport
• To the builder - Association Societatea de Construcții Napoca SA - SC Geo Arc SRL
• Supervisor – SC Viadif Consult SRL
• Cluj County Council
• State Construction Inspectorate

The final value of the works executed in stage I is approximately 29 million lei (including VAT).

Completion of stage I of the "Taxiway parallel to the runway" project allows for the smoothing of the movements of aircraft on the ground and handling equipment, which will lead to the optimization of times for conducting ground operations in safe and secure conditions, while ensuring, the optimal framework for supporting passenger traffic that is growing at Cluj International Airport.

In 2022, more than 2 million passengers were registered at Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, and more than 6 million passengers are estimated for 2023. 

Currently, the execution works are being carried out on the second stage of the "Taxiway parallel to the runway" project. During the development of the works for the realization of the object "Taxway parallel to the runway", weekly meetings are held at the headquarters of the Cluj International Airport in which the state of the works is discussed.
