‎About the project: 

The "Photovoltaic Park" project – SMIS code 347535, financed from the Modernization Fund, through Key Program no. 9: Energy efficiency in transport – reducing CO2 emissions through energy efficiency and new technologies in transport aims to implement a modern infrastructure through the use of green, renewable energy. 
The project aims to create a photovoltaic park through which green energy will be produced and certain standards in the field of environmental protection will be achieved by reducing pollution, reducing carbon emissions and combating the negative effects of climate change, reducing electricity costs and increasing the airport's energy independence.
The photovoltaic park will be built within the airport perimeter, on an urban plot of approximately 8 ha.
The project will install: a system of almost 7.500 photovoltaic panels, with a production capacity of 4,99 MW, a 12 MWh energy storage system and heat pumps, using 300 kWt of renewable energy. 
The total value of the project is 55.552.085,01 lei (VAT included), of which the value financed from European funds is 30.449.087,00 lei (excluding VAT, ineligible), and 25.102.998,01 lei (including VAT related to the total value of the project) will be provided by Cluj International Airport as beneficiary.

The main activities of the project are:

  • ‎The realization of the photovoltaic installation, which will contain the following primary equipment: the photovoltaic panel system, the metal structure supporting the photovoltaic panels, the inverters, the monitoring system, the storage system, the electrical connection equipment (direct and alternating current).
  • Connection to the airport's own off-grid power station
  • Heat pump system installation
  • Carrying out and receiving execution/assembly works, Providing the services necessary for the implementation of the project
