Information for passengers affected by the cancellation of flights operated by Lufthansa CityLine

Cluj-Napoca, April 21, 2026 – Given the crisis situation created by the interruption of flight operations by the airline Lufthansa CityLine and which led to a significant reduction in the frequency of flights on the Cluj-Napoca – Munich International Airport route Avram Iancu Cluj regrets the situation created and conveys full understanding of the difficulties faced by our passengers, by generating significant inconveniences for travelers who had confirmed reservations on the affected routes.

At the same time, we would like to point out that flights operated by LUFTHANSA GROUP on the CLUJ-NAPOCA – MUNICH / MUNICH – CLUJ-NAPOCA route continue with reduced frequency.

In this context, we would like to point out that during the period 25.04.2026 - 30.05.2026, the airline SWISS AIR supplemented the operation on the CLUJ-NAPOCA - ZÜRICH/ ZÜRICH- CLUJ-NAPOCA route with 25 more flights, compared to those initially scheduled.

The flight schedule operated by LUFTHANSA GROUP and SWISS AIR, implicitly the related days and times, according to the data communicated by the two airlines, can be viewed by accessing the following LINK: https://www.airportcluj.ro/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Orar-LH-si-LX_Aprilie-Mai-2026.pdf

We ask passengers whose flights have been canceled to take the following steps:

  • Contact the airline to receive up-to-date flight information.
  • Keep all travel documents (tickets, boarding passes, invoices)

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj is located in active negotiations with Lufthansa Group representatives in order to increase the number of flight frequencies on routes operated from and to Cluj-Napoca. The airport management considers that this strategic collaboration represents an essential priority for the long-term development of the region's air connectivity and implicitly for the recovery of the current situation.

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj is making every effort to minimize the impact of disruptions on its passengers.
