Start of the project "Electric aircraft de-icing/anti-icing vehicle"

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj, autonomous management subordinated to the Cluj County Council, as a beneficiary of European funds through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as the Management Authority, signed Financing Contract No. 237/09.06.2023 for the achievement of the investment objective "Electric aircraft de-icing/anti-icing vehicle". 

The objective of the project consists in the purchase of 2 electrical de-icing/anti-icing equipment, necessary for operations to remove the layer of snow and ice from aircraft.

The new electrical equipment will ensure the reduction of the times for de-icing/anti-icing activities of the aircraft during the winter season and will increase the degree of safety of the flight operations. At the same time, the use of state-of-the-art electrical equipment will contribute to the significant reduction of carbon emissions, in accordance with international standards regarding the protection of the environment.

The total value of the Financing Agreement is 14.316.145,00 lei of which the amount co-financed by the European Union is 5.115.200,13 lei. The "Aircraft de-icing/anti-icing electric truck" project, code SMIS 2014+ 158005 has an implementation period of 12 months, respectively between the date 01.01.2023 and 31.12.2023.
