Completion of the "Aircraft Parking Platform" project

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, an autonomous authority under the Cluj County Council, announces the completion of the "Aircraft Parking Platform" project, SMIS code 2014+152326. The project was implemented as a result of the conclusion of the Financing Agreement No. 148/30.06.2022 between the Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, as a beneficiary of European funds through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020, and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as the Authority of management.
The objective of the project was to increase the operational capacity at Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport by building a new platform with 4 seats for aircraft parking.
The new platform, with a constructed area of e 32.251 mXNUMX (bearing surfaces and berths) is equipped with beaconing systems and is connected to the runway and the new taxiway parallel to the runway, so as to ensure the fluidity of aircraft movements and carrying out operational activities in safe conditions.
As a result of the implementation of the project, new facilities will be offered to airlines, namely the operation of flights with category C and D aircraft, and the necessary infrastructure will be provided to supplement the stationed aircraft.
Also, when the project is completed, the possibilities of attracting new airlines, diversifying the route network or supplementing the number of flight frequencies will increase, which will increase passenger traffic and increase the number of aircraft movements.
The total value of the Financing Agreement is 33.253.408,34 lei, of which the amount of co-financing by the European Union is 10.942.580,28 lei.
The implementation period of the "Aircraft parking platform" project - SMIS code 2014+ 152326, according to the Financing Agreement, is between 1.01.2020 - 31.12.2023.
The project is co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020.
