Completion of the project "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking" CODE SMIS 2014 + 155107

The Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, an autonomous authority subordinate to the Cluj County Council, announces the completion of the project from non-refundable funds "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking", code SMIS 2014 + 155107, based on the Contract of Funding No. 176/16.09.2022 concluded with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The objective of the project consisted in the purchase of 4 airport equipment, of which 3 are intended for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and one for determining the degree of braking on the airport runway. De-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing equipment streamlines the cleaning process of aircraft moving surfaces and reduces intervention times for specific ground operations. The equipment for determining the degree of braking monitors the condition of the movement surfaces following the deposition of winter precipitation, ensuring a high degree of the braking coefficient.

Following the implementation of the project, the new airport equipment purchased led to an increase in the degree of safety in the operation of aircraft, in accordance with national and international regulations.
The total value of the Financing Agreement is 7.932.175,35 lei, of which the amount co-financed by the European Union is 2.807.733,25 lei.

The project "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking", code SMIS 2014 + 155107 has an implementation period of 18 months, provided for in the Financing Agreement, respectively between July 01, 2022 - December 31, 2023, and was successfully completed before the date specified in the contract.
The project is co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020.
