Project "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking", SMIS code 2014 + 155107, project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014 - 2020
The Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, as a beneficiary of European funds through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as the Management Authority, signed on September 16, 2022 the contract to achieve the investment objective "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking".
The project "Airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking", code SMIS 2014 + 155107 is co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and has an implementation period of 18 months , respectively between July 01, 2022 – December 31, 2023.
The objective of the project consists in the purchase of airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces of the Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, which will include a snow removal vehicle with plow, brush and blower, a vehicle for de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces with solid material and liquid and the multifunctional machine equipped with snow removal systems (cutter, plow, etc.). The equipment will ensure the increase in the safety of passengers, their companions, airlines and personnel operating in the airport perimeter, respectively the performance of civil aviation activities at the airport and the permanent improvement of safety measures. They are necessary for carrying out the airport's activity, in accordance with Regulation (EU) no. 139/2014 establishing technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes, AMC.OR.E005 – Snow plan removal.
Purchase of equipment for determining the degree of braking that will be used to determine the braking coefficient specific to the movement surface. The equipment is necessary for the performance of the airport's activity, in accordance with Regulation (EU) no. 139/2014 establishing technical requirements and administrative procedures relating to aerodromes, point AMC1 ADR.OPS.C.010 – Pavements, other ground surfaces, and drainage.
The new airport equipment for de-snowing/de-icing/anti-icing movement surfaces and determining the degree of braking will determine the correct monitoring of the state of the movement surface in case of deposits on the take-off/landing runway and ensuring a high degree of the braking coefficient on the airport runway. Airport equipment will ensure a high level of safe operation of flights at the airport and will reduce the intervention time for carrying out specific operations on the ground.
The total value of the Financing Agreement is 8.217.020,70 lei, of which the amount co-financed by the European Union is 2.910.235,90 lei.
