Cluj-Napoca, November 6, 2025: Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport, together with Cluj County Council and the airline animewings, today marks the crossing of the threshold of 3.000.000 registered passengers in 2025 — an exceptional result, obtained for the third consecutive year and which confirms the constant evolution of air traffic and the airport's position as the most important regional airport in Romania.

The anniversary event took place in a festive setting, in the presence of representatives of local authorities, institutional partners and the press. Passenger with number 3.000.000 was even appointed before boarding, Animawings check-in counters, being symbolically awarded by airport and airline representatives.

The moment of celebration was completed by a spectacular musical flash mob held in the public area of departures terminal by the artists of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca, who offered passengers and guests an emotional performance, transforming the event into a memorable experience for all those present.

Cluj Airport in 2025 – continuous growth and new projects

Year 2025 proves to be one of performance enhancement for Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport, through:

• monthly average of over 250 NO passengers, with a record high of 360.000 in August;
• over 40 regular destinations, along with up to 15 tourist charter destinations;
• new projects launched and an airport development strategy to reach 10 million passengers in 2045.

Also, balanced distribution between Schengen and Non-Schengen traffic, as well as the growing number of direct connections to major European hubs (Bucharest, Istanbul, Munich, Zurich) confirm the strategic role of Cluj Airport in the national and international air transport network.
