PRESS RELEASE Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and AnimaWings airline announce frequency increases for direct flights to Bucharest

Cluj-Napoca, September 01, 2025: Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, Cluj County Council and the airline AnimaWings bring good news regarding new travel opportunities for passengers and announce today the increase in frequencies for direct flights to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, starting from October 1, 2025.

Currently, flights to Bucharest from Cluj International Airport are operated by the airline AnimaWings with 9 frequencies per week, and from October 1, 2025, these will increase to 14 frequencies per week, thus introducing an additional frequency on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Thus, flights will be operated daily, and on Fridays there will be even 3 flights per day.

This additional flight frequency comes in response to the increase in the number of passengers who have traveled on board these aircraft from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest and beyond. Thus, with a reasonable waiting time, these domestic flights also facilitate connections for trips to: Paris Charles de Gaulle, Prague, Stockholm-Arlanda, Larnaca departing from Cluj International Airport, but also to other destinations available in the AnimaWings network in the Capital, such as: Dubai, Nice, Ibiza, Sofia, etc.

Mr. Alin Tișe, President of the Cluj County Council, stated: "Cluj International Airport is one of the priorities of the Cluj County Council, and the development of its route network is extremely important in the medium and long-term strategy. The increase in frequencies on the Cluj-Bucharest route represents a significant step both for the airline AnimaWings and for Cluj International Airport, which with increased connectivity will have the chance to record new passenger traffic records this year as well."

Mr. Viorel Federiga, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated on this occasion:: "We particularly appreciate the decision of AnimaWings to increase flight frequencies. Through these remarkable results, Cluj International Airport demonstrates once again that it is the regional airport with the most dynamic and spectacular development. It is obvious that the constant efforts made by the entire Cluj airport team continue to be based on professionalism, vision and excellence in the development of the largest regional airport in Romania."

DMr. David Ciceo, General Manager of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, conveyed the following: "We are pleased with the decision of the Romanian airline AnimaWings to increase the number of frequencies on this domestic route, which is appreciated by both the business environment and other passengers of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport. The Cluj-Napoca - Bucharest-Otopeni route ranks first in the top Schengen destinations from Cluj Airport, and the AnimaWings company transported over 7 passengers on this route in the first 2025 months of 40.000."

DMr. Marius Pandel, Chairman of the AnimaWings Board of Directors, stated: "We are pleased to announce the expansion of flight frequencies on the Bucharest-Cluj-Napoca route and return, from 9 to 14 weekly flights, starting in October. This decision responds to the growing demand from our passengers and underlines AnimaWings' commitment to connecting the main economic and cultural centers of Romania through a flexible and efficient operating schedule. We want to offer Cluj and Bucharest residents more travel options, whether for business or relaxation, while strengthening our company's role as a trusted partner for passengers across the country."
