Press release 31.05.2021- Completion of the project "C3 standard hand luggage scanning equipment with automatic integrated tray management / return system", - code SMIS 2014+ 120737

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, as the beneficiary, announces the completion of the project "C3 standard hand baggage scanning equipment with integrated automatic tray management / return system", SMIS code 2014+ 120737, on May 31, 2021, project co-financed from The European Fund for Regional Development, through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020, based on financing contract No. 59/30.01.2020 concluded with the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communications.

The new EDS standard C3 equipment allows the scanning of liquids and large electronics inside hand luggage. The images obtained are 3D, and any object can be individualized for separate analysis.

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport is the first in Romania to have such equipment.

As a result of the implementation of the project, the expected results are the streamlining of security control and the reduction of passenger processing times due to the superior scanning capacity of the equipment.
