Press release 31.03.2021 - Completion of the project "Explosive detection equipment Standard 3 type CTX"

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj, as a beneficiary, announces the completion of the project "Explosive detection equipment Standard 3 type CTX", SMIS Code 2014+ 120703, on March 31, 2021, project co-financed from the European Fund for Regional Development, through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020, based on financing contract No. 57/20.12.2019 concluded with the Ministry of Transport.

          The general objective of the project consisted in the purchase of 3 Standard 3 explosive detection equipment of the CTX (Computer Tomograph with X-Rays) type, to replace the equipment used to carry out the security control of Standard 2 checked baggage, of the EDS (Explosive Detection System), in accordance with EU Regulation 1998/2015, which requires all EDS equipment for scanning checked baggage to comply with Standard 3.

          The specific objective of the project aimed at the creation of a system of equipment dedicated to the security control of Standard 3 CTX checked baggage, integrated into a transport system, with an advanced capacity for processing checked baggage and a higher level of detection of threats with explosives, thus complying with the regulations imposed at community level.
