Press release 27.10.2023 - Completion of the "Taxiway parallel to the runway" project code SMIS 2014+ 125198

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, an autonomous authority under the Cluj County Council, as a beneficiary of European funds, announces the completion of the "Runway parallel to the runway" project - SMIS code 2014+ 125198, project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Program Large Infrastructure Operational 2014 – 2020.

The objective of the project was to build a new taxiway at Cluj International Airport, taking into account the upward trend of passenger traffic, the development of the route network and, implicitly, the increase in the number of aircraft movements.

As a result of the implementation of the project, the new taxiway will provide the necessary infrastructure to operate a larger number of aircraft, in increased safety and security conditions, both for passengers and for aircraft operating at Cluj Airport. At the same time, the new taxiway parallel to the runway will streamline the specific operations carried out on the ground.
