Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport organized a press conference on June 20, 2023, during which it was announced the start of construction works on the expansion of the departures passenger terminal on the North side.
The project is co-financed from the European Fund for Regional Development through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020 and aims to expand the departure terminal by approximately 7.200 square meters and the aircraft parking platform by nearly 9.000 square meters.
In the new configuration, the departure terminal and the extended aircraft parking platform meet the needs of the growing passenger traffic, but also the higher number of flights expected for the next period.
The total value of the Project Financing Agreement is 365.708.900,80 lei, of which the value of the European Union co-financing is 129.618.899 lei.
