Press release 20.05.2025 – Completion of the project "Extension of the departures passenger terminal on the North side" code SMIS 2014 + 155602

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, an autonomous management company subordinated to the Cluj County Council, as a beneficiary of European funds, announces the completion of the project "Extension of the departures passenger terminal on the North side", a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014 - 2020.

The objective of the project was to expand the departures terminal on the North side by 7.200 square meters and the aircraft parking platform, with an area of ​​approximately 9.000 square meters. Also within the project, a high-performance photovoltaic panel system was created and an efficient system for producing thermal energy from renewable sources was installed.

In its new configuration, the departure terminal, which became operational in June 2024, has 11 boarding gates, and to streamline the flow of passengers, new security checkpoints equipped with state-of-the-art C3 standard equipment have been set up.
