Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and Turkish Airlines announce frequency increases for direct Cluj-Istanbul flights

Cluj-Napoca, 12.03.2025: Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and the airline Turkish Airlines announce increasing the frequency of direct flights to Istanbul starting with 5 May 2025.

Turkish Airlines has been offering direct flights to Istanbul from Cluj International Airport since 2016, and currently operates daily. Due to the additional frequencies, the number of flights will increase from 7 to 9 per week, starting from May 5, 2025, by introducing two additional flights, operated on Mondays and Saturdays. This adjustment will facilitate passenger connectivity to the over 300 destinations in the global Turkish Airlines network.

The additional flight frequency responds to the growing demand from passengers who choose Istanbul both as a final destination and as a connection hub to intercontinental destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

Mr Turkish Airlines General Manager Hakkı Güntay said: "Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to the most countries in the world, will increase the frequency of Istanbul-Cluj-Istanbul flights to 9 per week, adding a new flight on Monday evening and a new flight on Saturday morning, in addition to the daily one, starting with May 5, 2025.

Mr. David Ciceo, General Manager of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, added: "Turkish Airlines is one of our strategic partners, and this increase in the frequency of flights to Istanbul confirms the attractiveness of Cluj as a destination. Passengers will now have easier access to one of the world's largest air hubs, with multiple connection possibilities to all continents."
