As a beneficiary, Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport implements the project "Explosive detection equipment Standard 3 type CTX"

International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communications signed on December 20, 2019, Financing Contract No. 57/December 20, 2019, for the realization of the project "Explosive detection equipment Standard 3 type CTX ", through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020.
The "CTX Standard 3 Explosive Detection Equipment" project consists in the purchase of 3 CTX Standard 3 equipment dedicated to the scanning of hold baggage with a higher level of detection, with an advanced processing capacity, integrated into a transport system, scanning and distribution of checked baggage.
Considering the EU Regulation 1998/2015 which requires all EDS equipment for scanning checked baggage to correspond to Standard 3, by September 1, 2020 at the latest, the implementation of this project aims to align the International Airport Avram Iancu Cluj to the requirements and norms of the EU Regulations in the field of civil aviation security, as well as streamlining the processing flow of checked baggage.
The new Standard 3 CTX security control equipment system integrated into the transport system, with an advanced processing capacity, will provide a higher level of detection which will ensure the increase in the security level of checked baggage.
The total value of the Financing Agreement is 23.288.619,60 lei, of which the amount co-financed by the European Union is 15.483.084,37 lei.
Project "CTX Standard 3 Explosive Detection Equipment", SMIS code 2014+120703 has an implementation period of 20 months, respectively 01.08.2019 – 31.03.2021.
