ACI EUROPE has reconfirmed the commitment of the European airport industry to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2050 at the latest.
This pledge was initially launched in June 2019. Based on traffic data from European airports and the estimated carbon footprint, this pledge will eliminate 3.14 million tonnes of CO2 annually, starting in 2050.
235 airports managed by 63 operators in 29 countries currently support this industry commitment.
